Cheers to the Class of ’68,

I have been blessed with finding an occupation that I have enjoyed for the past 35 years.  I have been a 6th and 5th grade teacher in the Fairfield Public School System and have been at Roger Sherman School since I began my career.  My mother graduated from its older building in the center of town and my children are alumni too.  It was also a pleasure to have been the teacher to children of some of our Class of ’68 members or of classmates who graduated before or after us.  Needless to say, parent conferences could get very long when one would go off talking about high school memories.  It was also very nice to have power over these parents by reminding them the ‘certain’ memories I could share with their child. While at the reunion, I will not be only interested in what some of you are doing but will be extremely interested in what your child, my former student, is doing.

I have been happily married for 34 years and have a daughter and son.  My daughter, Sara, has a PhD in chemistry while my son, Alex, was an All American in soccer.  My passion is travel, and my family and I have been to many places.  Cruising is my particular favorite mode of travel.  In fact, my wife, Colette, and I hope to celebrate our 35th by touring the Galapagos Islands during the summer of 2009.

Teach your children well,

                         (grandchildren)
