Kathy Eike, now known as Kate Dudding

(just too many C/Kathys our age, plus I got married)

With a double major of psychology and French, I graduated from Tufts U. and married a great guy I met there, Jerry Dudding.

I started working for a psych professor at Tufts as a research assistant in his visual perception lab which was controlled by a mini-computer. After Jerry finished his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Northeastern University, we moved to the Albany, NY area.

For 31 years, both in the Boston and Albany areas, I continued getting jobs in the computer field. Along the way, I got an MS in Computer Science, collaborated on two patents, and we had a son, now 23.

Twelve years ago, I started studying storytelling. Ten years ago, when Jerry’s employer laid him off, he went to Albany Law School, class of 2001, and is now a patent agent (see www.gfdpatents.com). Five years ago, when my employer decided to push me out the door, I became a full-time storyteller (see www.katedudding.com), and also a web site designer with about a dozen paying web customers. I recorded my second storytelling CD earlier this year. I'm still married to that great guy 36 years later.
